this, and it's not an end all be all, but it mattersAs much as I hate my loans, the pursuit of a degree is still the best thing smokin.
umm hmmmIf you want to argue college costs way too much that's fair. But the elites want to downplay the importance of college because the end goal is to make it prohibitively expensive for common people to achieve. They want to make it essentially a 'social network' for the upwardly mobile further creating a divide between the haves and have nots.
100%I think it is absolutely critical that as many black people as possible obtain higher education
cacs trying to downplay and make higher education unattainable for the masses (and especially nikkaz), that's a red flag. There's a reason they also didn't want our people to be able to vote and made it hard in places to do so pre civil rights movement. Not a coincidence both efforts are being brought back to forefront today. That doesn’t guarantee anything either with the influx of cheap foreign labor. We somehow have Indian truck drivers now.Skill trade is the only way to survive in this country
I hear you but the vast majority of people opting out of higher education are not doing it for the reasons you highlighted

anytime you got the elites andcacs trying to downplay and make higher education unattainable for the masses (and especially nikkaz), that's a red flag. college is an INVESTMENT, but you should always try to attain higher levels of education after college. they don't want you knowing any better and it's for a reason. That's why they LOVE the social media era. So easy to manipulate, fleece, grift, misdirect, and con the common man into fighting amongst themselves while they fukk over you and pick your pockets. Black people for the most part know the game, but there's a lot of cacs that won't figure it out until it's too late.
I think the real reason is a combination of every gen z wanting to become a content creator due to the rise of social media and also the political landscape that's actively promoting anti education and anti intellectualism.I beg to differ. I’d venture to say that the MAJORITY of people who can go to college and choose not to do it specifically because it’s too expensive and doing so hasn’t resulted in gainful employment or a career anywhere near that it used to.
I suppose it depends on where you look for the metrics but I can confidently say people aren’t choosing not to because of their politics.
Or maybe college cost is increasing while income inequality also increases and having a college degree doesn't really guarantee you a good job after paying or owing a lot of money after the fact.
54% of American adults reading below a 6th grade level is more of an indication of stupidity than the views of higher education.
I guarantee that a lot of the movements we see now from MAGA to anti-vax are correlated to a lack of literacy. Go watch those videos with the left pressing MAGAts about tariffs. They had no idea how they work because they don't read well enough to take in information. Anti-vaxxers always said they're going to do their research. We know they were either bullshytting or just going to watch a YouTube video from someone confirming their bias. No way they'd be able to read a scientific explanation of how vaccines work and understand it.
For me college ended up being more about building my overall intelligence than finances. I don't work in the field I got my degree in but I wouldn't know what I know had I gone to a trade school or jumped straight into the work force. There's more to life than work.
Even the classes that I didn't enjoy like Philosophy or classes like anthropology I didn't go into with much interest still made me more well rounded intellectually.
There's a noticeable difference when I talk to adults with a degree vs people who only have a high school diploma. The conversations tend to be more limited topically or they have a limited world view. Unless that person is an avid reader who is into learning on their free time they tend to stop seeking information.
Even if it's community college I'd recommend getting higher education. High school doesn't teach you nearly enough.
yup. and it's VERY dangerous.I think the real reason is a combination of every gen z wanting to become a content creator due to the rise of social media and also the political landscape that's actively promoting anti education and anti intellectualism.
There are millions of white teenagers who are soaking up all the anti education anti college rhetoric thta they and their parents are consuming
I was giving a take why college is less popular. Not telling people not to go.A very uneducated thing to say.
Knowledge/Information/Intellect is just as valuable as money.
What you do with it is on you.
