The good thing is that Harden has already made plenty of money in his career. But I still think financially this is a bad move. Houston offers you a 2 yr 100 million extension that you turn down. Now you opt out of 47 million taking a 15 million paycut. He must think he's gonna ball out and opt out after the first year.

Not a harden fan but :obama:

Let’s see what happens
Yea, we saw CP3 go through similar.

Bad hamstring injury 2018 postseason
Larry Holmes throughout 2019
Big changes to his offseason diet + workout regime
2020 was back to pre-injury form

Harden's too young (32) for his legs to be that cooked but the type of strength-training program needed to recover has to be done in the offseason, the earlier the better. So this is a good sign for PHI.

Ayton, Sexton, Bridges. What the heck is holdup on the first 2?

Ayton - KD trade and doesn’t have a strong market. Indiana I believe is the only team left that can sign him outright without needing a S&T. San Antonio might be able to as well but they’re tanking

Sexton - Doesn’t really have a market due to being restricted and missing all of last year, he’s going back to the Cavs the only question is if he accepts their offer or takes the QO

He definitely has a market if he’s willing to accept a 6th man role and money, which he’s hesitant to do and I don’t necessarily blame him. More times than not, once you get pigeonholed into that particular role, it’s hard to get out of it.

In a way his spot kind of got jacked by Rubio, but they could still use the scoring off the bench.

I’m not saying he doesn’t have a market because no one wants him, he doesn’t have a market because what team is gonna submit an offer that would make Cleveland let him walk?

If anything both him and Ayton should be following Harden's playbook. The FA next year is trash, so you could theoretically get back what you lost and more if you ball out and have a good year. In Sexton's case, all he needs to do is show some semblance of improvement in his playmaking skills and decision skills and he should be fine financially.

He's going to opt out & get a longer deal next summer, Morey loves him & the Sixers aren't going to suddenly have better options to do anything anyway until that Harris contract is up or moved.
