The SWAC baseball championship has like 5 black players playing. Why did we stop playing baseball?

I remember every black kid playing baseball or t-ball. shyt we used to play catch at recess or even stickball.


Have we really given up on baseball so much HBCU’s can’t even field a team?


How do we get black Boys into baseball? It’s constructive and tons of scholarship opportunities

Interest level just isn't the same. Baseball is ingrained in Latin/Latin American cultures, so EVERYBODY plays including the best athletes.

The best AA athletes play football and basketball.

Yep and basketball is becoming gentrification too. I remember collecting baseball cards in the late 80s into the early 90s. Which made me aware of damn near the whole league. Then I just wasn't into it anymore. We used to play it pretty regularly too. In the cul de sac or just a park.

This! If AA focused on soccer there would be a huge investment in soccer fields around the country but we only focus on basketball and football.

not even huge investments in basketball courts/community centers nowadays, cities aren't investing in soccer fields. In fact, cities have been ripping up basketball hoops and gentrifying neighborhoods in order not to attract that crowd.
