This trap shyt is dying.

It'll be out of here by 2018

2017 it'll be frowned upon

Labels about to look for a different sound to push.

Thats thanks to nikkas like j cole and kendrick.

J cole went plat no promo they see that shyt can get pushed

Kendrick although TPAB is underappreciated at the moment people will look back and see the impact it will truly have.

Trap is cool for the clubs i get that but outside of there its really not enjoyable. Its forgettable. This whole era has bred 0 classics. 0 0 classic albums. 0 classic beats 0 classic tracks. 0 legendary producers shyt is horrible.

Where the hell is sonny digital?
nikka making beats for a transgendered anita baker sounding nikka makkonen.

This the worst era rap has seen since the early 80s where nikkas was sounding like they was yelling into the mic through a bedroom window and the mic was in the kitchen :snoop: (thank god for rakim)

You gotta go through bad to get to good. What ever comes next will be the best era ever

Trap isn't going anywhere. Someone should write an article about how rap is starting to mirror income inequality in the sense that trap dominates because it's cheap, whereas we're seeing a rise in the top tier/filthy rich artists using crazy samples again because they can afford them (Hov, Beyonce, Pharrell, Kanye's Kardashian bailout money, etc). It's like the rap version of income inequality lol.

You can use samples and still make trap. The new b/jay album is all trap bases outside of 2 songs. Even alot of the new shyt kanye is producing is trap based

Of course you can, but both those examples (Hov/B and Kanye) are what I'm talking about: you can afford crazy samples if you're a top tier artist. Trap is largely a framework at this point. 808s, drums. What you put on top of that is what separates the beat, usually, unless your 808s are just amazing. We're seeing Frank Dukes make a fortune selling modern samples to producers/artists. Various sounds he has recorded, which producers "sample" over their 808s. That's not cheap, but it's cheaper than the other sample option: ie actually sampling records.

ATL producers aren't giving up publishing for shyt. They're gucci. But we're definitely seeing a rise in top tier releases from top tier artists that have a lot of samples I wouldn't expect. 4:44 being the crowning example.
