I really thought cloud rap had a chance to turn into something bigger but the rappers in the genre were nothin more than indie darlings (except Asap Rocky). The sound of trap music has evolved compared to what Shawty Redd & Drumma Boy was doing in the mid 00's. Lex Luger took what they done took to it to another level and that style got ran into the ground quick lol. Metro Boomin & London added other characteristics to their trap style beats making them standout. Beat makers already caught on, using what they did in their shyt (Like at Goose for example). Being a beatmaker myself....I can make those beats. Its not that hard but I'll rather standout and try to cook up something new but its tough. Theres not too many new sounds you can make under the trap music umbrella.

Trap Soul - Has already been done. Bryson Tiller ain't doing shyt new.
Trap Jazz - Already heard Jazz samples backed with an 808 kit. Kendrick Lamar's Alright being the famous one.
Trap rock - Tech N9ne rapped on trap style beats with electric guitars. Worldwide chopper's is an example.
Trap Pop - Is currently being used by edm producers and pop singers. Katy Perry, Lorde, Miley Cyrus and AlundraGeorge are examples. On the indie pop side, groups like Purity Ring are the using sounds to make fluff ass music.

Trap Edm - Already been done and is getting oversaturated.
I think I even heard a country song with 808 snares/hi-hats somewhere... :russ:
The sound ain't going anywhere. Its global. Even dudes in Asia are making trap music inspired by OG Maco.:wow:

The true content of trap music however is never going to change...as long there is drug/street content.

These are the kinda Trap beats I'll like to hear more of

Trap won't die bc its cheap and easy to make.

If a dude has a decent set of lyrics but can't pay for a Pharrell beat then he can find a trap producer and luck up on a hit

Until corporate America finds another (black) inner city subculture to exploit, trap isn't going anywhere crehs.

Like any pimp worth his salt, he will sell that bytch out until she inevitably overdoses from a lethal dose of heroin or one of her johns murders her. Keep thinking you can put a price on this kind of stuff.

shyt thread

The trap sound isn't going anywhere, Metro, London, Cassius Jay, 808, Mafia, etc have evolved it

The trap content is still there, but with lean playing a pivotal role in changing the sound, it's geared more towards users instead of suppliers
