It will die just like every other sub-sound did but right now, it's everywhere..not just within HipHop either. I heard this n the radio the other day and was like:ohhh::ohhh::dahell:

:skip:

Trap is slowly becoming the new disco should've known it was inevitable after Katy Perry had to
jump on the Hip-Hop wave. Now we'll get more garbage sing-song radio hits with bright happy chords
stealing the rhythms common in Trap music.

This the worst era rap has seen since the early 80s where nikkas was sounding like they was yelling into the mic through a bedroom window and the mic was in the kitchen :snoop: (thank god for rakim)

:dahell:
1. For one, I don't think that was the "early 80's" at all.
Albums like License to Ill, Radio and Run-DMC or Kings of Rock
came out in the mid to late 80's and they were GREAT albums.
That style/flow was dope as fukk even though it's different from Kool G Rap and
Rakim.
2. This "era" is nowhere near "bad", there's plenty of great music that has come out since trap got hot and crunk fell off.

Turtle Island to DXB
Trap I still mess with but I am all up on Drill. Didn't know so much fire came out of the Chi. Think trap has it's place as conscious hip-hop or any other form of expression.

If you don't go to clubs, have a car with beat or a bangin sound system in your house there is no reason to like Trap music. Trap music is BEAT FIRST wile not even focusing to much on the raps cause the rapping is 80% wack but the bass rolls & notes kicks and snare rolls is amazing on a good system.

To the trap fans on here how do you feel about this beat:

I always wanted someone to rap over this.

Musically speaking, that was true of ATL Crunk and Miami bass also. It's more about beat/music and vibe than the actual lyrics. In this way, they are more akin to EARLY HipHp.

Yeaaaaah, I dunno.

I really miss the days when the sounds/style of rap would change every year or two... and this shyt is gettin' ridiculous... but I don't see it ending any time right now. There are clubs where DJs can't even deviate from trap/"turn up" shyt- that kind of thing doesn't change overnight. It's gonna take a gradual change that will probably take a number of years, sad to say. So in the meantime, more super-slow beats and remedial raps for everybody. :manny:

That shyt pisses me off about stagnation in rap. People want to say that trap is for black people and boom bap is for white CaCs. :smh:

Trap music is a TRAP to your musical and mental progression.

Clubs and parties are all it's good for
Even then, I'd rather not listen to it

I don't know how people could genuinely listen to that all the time.

Half of that shyt isn't understandable.
It's also got rarely any lyrical value (which is a personal big preference for me)

Trap is almost as annoying as Reggaeton. If you play a trap song from 2011, many people go :camby: because the replayability is shyt.

It's not even that trap music per se needs to die but I feel it needs to evolve sonically.

I don't mind some of it but it's like it peaked with Shawty Redd 10 years ago and cats have been recycling Lex Luger beats for 5 years. There's basically nothing to differentiate a trap track from 2009 to 2015. The music has to progress or do something different otherwise it's kinda zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

I've heard it all before and most of the rappers don't have the personality to carry the mundane recycled production.

Trap music at this point is just :manny: and broads only can do stripper thot moves with that; a poor imitation at that.

Plus most people use autotune to cover up the lack of skill.
