Ellie Goulding

“On My Mind”

Interscope/Cherrytree

After Ed Sheeran released the scathing “Don’t,” reportedly about ex Goulding, the British songstress seemingly claps back with the Max Martin-produced single from new album Delirium (Nov. 8). The surefire radio hit combines the twangy guitars on The Police’s “Message in a Bottle” with sputtering trap drums, a recipe for a spicy kiss-off. -- S.J.H.

This trap shyt is dying.

But it isn't tho :yeshrug:

Edited to add: and this coming from someone who used to hate this shyt with a passion, OP is off his med's he thinking trap dying out any time soon. what happens is it shift's centers of creation, Chicago's trap variation is at it's end but the genre itself is still strong.

Look at Future.

Feel for Flylo that Brainfeeder never blew up like that :mjcry:
Brainfeeder is better not being mainstream. That sound isn't for everyone. FlyLo is for music heads. I'd rather he stay being original and innovative rather than drastically changing what he does for mainstream appeal.

True. There are tons of great trap instrumentals but personnaly my issue has always been the wack ass "rapping" over them, that's why I got into EDM quite heavy a couple years ago. But that wave is dying in EDM, I think it's moving towards "smooth trap" or "soul trap" or whatever name is invented, more smooth melodies but still with some trap drum and whatnot. Stuff like what Soulection or Souletiquette is putting out for example.
EDM is just a more corporate push to make dance music mainstream and marketable to young americans.

The trap edm thing was basically an extension of dubstep and southern rap having that same sound and eventually fusing together around 2008-2010.there are some dope producers extending the infuence of that so7nd those currently.

EDM is slowly but surely becoming a fad too. Those kids that liked Deadmau5 and above and beyond are moving on to either techno or deep house. Cause edm... (more like electro house/trance/trap/dubstep) is pretty much for kids. House and techno is for the grown ups.
