The next wave of trap music, which is already happening, is singing and rapping on the beat. After that idk what's gonna be hip hop's next big sound. You already got the intellectual rapping ass dudes like Kendrick and Lupe. So what's next?

Trap wont die, it'll just spread onto the next genre.

We already got trap r&b, trap pop and trap EDM.

It's only a matter of time before Trap Jazz, Trap n Roll, Country trap (although I believe that's already in the works) gospel trap and by the end of the next decade they'll be trap poetry slams.

There will be no escape from the trap.:birdman:

Unless you go deaf.:ld:

But then what about trap sign language?:jbhmm:

I can't wait until it dies. It's been around for too long.

R&B should come back. I think songs like Drake's hotline bling will be popular. Music that sounds like the early 2000s.

Hopefully more black female artist will come out, maybe some girl groups. I think there will def be a few black girl groups that will come out in the next couple of years.

Hotline Bling has Trap music influences in the instrumental too:skip:

Trap + R&B is the formula:ehh:

This trap shyt is dying.

It'll be out of here by 2018

2017 it'll be frowned upon

Labels about to look for a different sound to push.

Thats thanks to nikkas like j cole and kendrick.

J cole went plat no promo they see that shyt can get pushed

Kendrick although TPAB is underappreciated at the moment people will look back and see the impact it will truly have.

Trap is cool for the clubs i get that but outside of there its really not enjoyable. Its forgettable. This whole era has bred 0 classics. 0 0 classic albums. 0 classic beats 0 classic tracks. 0 legendary producers shyt is horrible.

Where the hell is sonny digital?
nikka making beats for a transgendered anita baker sounding nikka makkonen.

This the worst era rap has seen since the early 80s where nikkas was sounding like they was yelling into the mic through a bedroom window and the mic was in the kitchen :snoop: (thank god for rakim)

You gotta go through bad to get to good. What ever comes next will be the best era ever
I agree with you on the quality of music and all that.

but in terms of getting shine I gotta say Cole and Kendrick are anomalies.
Kendrick also has a bigger machine behind him than people realize

record labels and radio are still owned by the same fukkers who hijacked the culture and music in the first place and molded it into what they felt it comfortable being.

the good shyt won't ever be popping like that again, breh
:manny:

corporate music(for the most part) is made for the lowest common denominator. and that which isn't from some cookie cutter mold is still usually wack as fukk and they beat people over the head with it so much through so many mediums that people end up knowing the lyrics and hooks to songs they supposedly hate. that's that programming b.

I'd argue that(in line with your point) that the powers that be have actually DICTATED to the masses what's hot or what's not by putting so much money to make sure even the shyt we don't like is ubiquitous.

all that being said, yes, this current era has been wack, but that's only if you really give a shyt about the fukkery they're pushing on the masses. there's been a lot of dope shyt that's come out as of late, you just gotta know where to look.
and i'm sure you do
