:mindblown: I never said I only cared about games...I said I want games to be the main focus of a videogame system...the other stuff as a bonus..atleast not the priority OVER the games...lol...

Why do games need to be the main focus? If you get the games you want to play, why does the focus mater?

i fail to see all the extra stuff a game console does that factors into it selling better. if you want devices that do streaming a Roku is only like $100 while this Xbox is gonna be more like $400+ at least.

all i'm saying is all that extra stuff is good filler for them to stand on a stage and brag about but most of us buying this box don't care about that. we already have devices that do all the functionality they're promising this box will do at the base level.

i already have a DVR, already have a Blu-Ray player and a harmony remote. its just one button press for me to switch inputs on my TV. i have a computer plugged up to my TV.

the early adapters are more inclined to just care about games than extra multimedia functionality as we're all pretty tech savvy. the late adapters are more inclined to just care about price.

all these add-on gimmicks should not be the main focus. which it clearly is for this next XBOX. I will be getting the PS first and then a few years down the line possibly get an XBOX if I feel inclined to do so like I did this gen.

I'm just not sure why MS thinks voice control and hand gestures is something to get so excited about. Like they were legit mad hype about saying "xbox home" on stage. shyt is not really anything to be gettin all cheesy for. I'm not trynna swipe and all that shyt. I tried it with the 360 Kinect and nah, I'll stick to the controller. My Kinect been collectin dust for almost a year.

You have to look at it from the other side too. Gamers want bigger/stronger/ faster. Look at how much flack Nintendo gets for imploying the strategy you suggested. For them to continue to give gamers the experiences we want and expect, the business model has to change. Either they need to bring a broader audience in or they have to start charging us more. It seems like they will try both.

In my opinion gamers are spoiled. Look how much more we get for our money. The sega genesis was $200 and the games were $40. Budgets were nowhere near what they are today. If they are gonna give me some new experiences, I don't mind paying more. It keeps the industry healthy and alive.

In all honesty, I have more fun playing on my NES and Genesis than I do with games now. I can beat those games over and over, but when I beat these new games and play online for a little I never play them again. I even find myself searching ebay and hobby stores for 8-bit and 16-bit games.
