Back in the day (40's -60's) you would see some news stories on how someone saved kids from a burning fire or saving a cat. Now, besides one or two positive stories you always hear something negative :snoop: In some ways, I think there is an agenda behind it. I'm not saying it's not important, but 95% of the news is negative :snoop: Crazy part is, these businesses that are corrupt have helped contribute to the fall in our society :manny:

It's to keep us paranoid, stressed, in a constant state of negative energy. You're right! Everything they speak about is negative. It's about finances, murders, racist abuse, rapes, kidnappings, bad weather/earthquakes/hurricanes, etc.

If it bleeds, it leads :manny:

thats why with all the information we got through social media you should be realizing youre only getting fed shyt through TV. It all has biases and advertisers to make happy, not the audience. :francis:

They are able to use the platform to make people think certain things are more widespread than they really are.

You're probably more likely to see a story about kidnappers daily while the amount of kidnapping crimes is at its lowest in x amount of years

That's just an example, I don't know any numbers but something like that would lead you to believe that it is a big problem when in reality

They are just focusing on those sorts of incidents more often and it changes people's perspectives

If that makes any sense

It works both ways too, the things they can choose not to cover might lead some to think that those issues are not a problem anymore or often

So hold on

People like you bytch that media doesnt show the real stories or is nothing but misleading lies but then when they showcase brutal truths or aspects of society that arent pleasent they're pushing negativity to latch people in.

Sweet jesus the gymnastics.

Kids are more likely to be kidnapped by a relative than a stranger by huge percentages

Yet the fear that a child might be kidnapped if left alone is huge
