All of you guys that down brehs for serving in the military need to understand that the corporations that we work for do just as much in pushing American Imperialism. Let these men carve a life for themselves the way they see fit without shytting on their ability to be at peace with their decisions. All of us are slaves to the elite, some of us just have more benefits.
This is true

I think that the concept of a "military" in itself is a double edged sword :francis:

On one hand, it's an amazing institution with respect to building discipline and focus within individuals

The entity in itself has more positive qualities then negative imo. I personally know a bunch non-kin, sharp, in-shape men from every different branch of the military, who are all very aware of the racist horrible military history of white supremacy who don't agree the overall actions of various western military forces over various centuries at all

The biggest problem with the military(and also the reason why the western military forces have been so deadly, especially over the most recent ~100 years or so) is that any given military isn't actually it's own entity...

It's tied to the government that organizes/creates it

This makes the concept/entity of the "military" a "tool" to be utilized and applied in different ways, on a fundamental level, based on the creator's actions

The problem with "tools" with respect to the military specifically, is that tools are always guided by a "controlling hand". In most situations, that "controlling hand" is guided by specifically personal/selfish(instead of generally humanitarian/selfless) interests. I can give multiple examples of this selfishness in play throughout history

If a person says "fukk the military", what it REALLY means is, "I don't like the actions that the western military forces have taken in various 'majority-melanated' countries"

It doesn't mean that the person is saying "fukk EVERY PERSON IN THE MILITARY", it means they are saying that they disagree with how the "controlling hands" are utilizing/applying the "tool" that is the military

It's really just a fundamental miscommunication imo

I think that the dominant society plays up that fundamental miscommunication

My b if I'm rambling :francis:

I dont think " ptsd" is strictly a military thing

I cut my finger with a knife washing it, now every time I pick up a sharp knife that one moment pops into my head, and Wince because I still remember the exact pain it caused

This shyt is real I’m in rehab RN and it’s nikkas in here for PTSD too. I got major depressive disorder as well. Your supervisors don’t give a damn about you either.

The only upside to all this shyt is if you get the GI Bill and finesse VA disability after your contract is up. Hopefully I go through this so my kids don’t have too.
Going thru it now. Should be getting my %s soon I hope. They gonna have to pay for what they did to the Cold Crush
36 months of school(bachelors degree)

when i got out you had 10 years to use it but i heard they changed the gi bill so it lasts forever but id double check on that.

if you get disability thats for life

va healthcare(if you qualify) life

i got free eye surgery in the army too.:wowspur:

My dad was in DS and I’ve heard this from him before too.

Nah.
PTSD rates were just as high, if not higher. They weren’t diagnosed as PTSD, it was “shell shock,” the “wartime blues,” and a few others.
Benefits have been there since WW2. Did you actually serve? Because my father and grandfather did, and it fukked them up.

Draft?

You're right, it's not.

It's literally what it says it is. Stress or discomfort from trauma.

I had a similar situation to yours, where I carved up my thumb at work in an accident with a box cutter. I ended up being okay, but sometimes I remember exactly how it felt when the knife cut in, and damn near touched bone. I've been through much worse things in life than that, but it was rough because my dumbass refused medical treatment, and attempted to patch it up some liquid skin, gauze, and tape.

My thumb was basically a pez dispenser for about a month :francis:

What's concerning for military members is figuring out how much wild shyt they had to process mentally before their brain just hit an event or series of events that caused trauma.

If you ever talk to a vet that suffers from PTSD and get them to open up, they'll tell you about the shyt that triggered it, and on the way there, tell you about a gang of other terrible shyt that happened, and wave it off like it's something light.

Its not :gucci:
Its a medical condition that manifests after traumatic experiences.
Your example isn't PTSD, but a massive number of people have PTSD after sexual assault, being exposed to extreme violence, years of other abuses, etc.

Just dont join the marines and army brehs

Their whole culture revolves around being "hardened warriors" to the point where Hoorah fukkery and dipshyt leaders infiltrates even POG (non combat) career fields.

I was in the Coast Guard. No ptsd shyt from that (quite a bit from growing up in the hood in chicago :sadcam: ) but even in that branch as easy as it is to do the work, you learn the military can will fukk you at every point. When I was getting out with my honorable the stupid ass chief never signed off on it, then retired :gucci: so I'm at work two years later and some LT calls me like you about to be dishonorable discharged for not showing up for two years :dahell: if I didn't have literally 18 months of me asking this chief if he did the shyt yet I would have been fukked for the rest of my life. Now imagine that type of shyt but with your mental, your health, your money. I've seen them fukk over so many people or at least attempt to and its like why? We have more than enough money to give everyone who ever served free healthcare for life dead ass. but nope, let em rot when they not useful any more.

People always surprised when they find out I'm a vet because of how anti military I am now. And I just saved people I didn't even have to shoot a brown kids or nothing. But I peeped game how they treated the combat branches and man, I wouldn't ever want to go through that shyt :wow:

:mjlol:at having the highest defense budget out of any other country in the world 10 times over, only to chisel and nitpick vets out of their benefits and treatment when they're done serving.

having "support the troops" marketing campaigns be more effective than the efforts to literally, actually support the troops, is the definition of America :mjlol::mjcry:
