Studies have proven that America would save money if they introduced a single-payer healthcare system. Free and cheaper education will allow many more people who previously didn't have resources to obtain an education which will allow them to contribute to the economy.

These minimum wage arguments always come down to: "Hey if we look at what MW was in the 60s and peg it there (for some arbitrary reason) we will see what it should be in 2018"

The government does need to increase the minimum wage because these people who actually have 2 jobs still can't make ends meet. Apartments are becoming more expensive forcing already working people to apply for food stamps and welfare. If the government actually increases the minimum wage, people will not rely on welfare which will eliminate one of the problems of the black community. In the past, people would be able to buy a home with just a factory job. Now, people with a factory job could barely pay rent.

Theres a reason Europeans appear to have such an attractive system...and a lot of it has to do with: Demographics, Post-WW2 development, and a lot of other factors you all neglect to understand about other countries.

Theres 300 million Americans. You're comparing us to nations with at most 1/3rd of the population in economic unions like the EU.

The MW should be increased because Americans are unable to pay for rent and food even while working 2 MW jobs. In certain places in the world, one dollar could go a long way. In America, a single dollar is next to worthless. That is why MW needs to be increased. Prices of food and housing are increasing while the wages are stagnating. This is why 70+% of Americans are living from paycheck to paycheck.
