Anyone comparing boxing is an idiot.
This doesn't mean the ufc is dead. This is simply one of the biggest return on investments in history. .... a few million to 4 billion.
Any investment group would keep people like Dana and Rogan around for certain roles.
Mma is a bigger conversation around the world than boxing. This new sale might turn it into a top 3 sport.

Mma is bigger than boxing in Brazil and possibly Japan. That's it.

a niche sport? everybody likes to watch people fight whether they want to admit it or not. UFC has a monopoly, there's no excuse.

And a lot of people are against blood, gore, violence and combat sports in general.

On nationally televised FOX cards, the UFC is forced to spray paint over any blood on the canvas.

UFC, Ultimate Fighting Championship, has evolved from fighters using different martial arts skills to all fighters fighting the same mixed martial-arts style.

Something isn't right about the current format. It has an artificial feel about it. MMA is a made up martial art.
I don't think moving the octagon into a boxing ring (PRIDE) would make it better.
These are my opinions for improving the UFC.
What I would like to see is taking away the MMA gloves so fighters are now open handed. All the jiu-jitsu moves went away after the gloves were added. :stopitslime: Taking off the gloves now adds that element back in. Put boxing head gear onto the fighter's head. This would prevent concussions because the fighters don't have gloves on anymore. Punches to the body will hurt more.
Less elements of boxing will be used since fighters don't have gloves on. Hand and arm movements will be faster.

With headgear, it's actually safer. Right now, dudes are still getting KO'ed with kicks to the head. Apparently, it's okay for these state commissions to get kicked in the head without any padding than punched in the head with padding on your fists. I get what you are saying about boxing and mma commissions.
Original UFC had zero gloves, headgear, and foot padding.
