To the best of my knowldge they arent getting tanks and ammunition from russia in the same way those western sahel countries do. They also dont have their balls in an American vice grip like haiti does. They could totally have sat this one out like the rest of the african countries abstaining. Even china sat this vote out, so those two countries dont have stronger vested interests in Russia than china.

I get the vague feeling that they are sending a message, but i dont understand why?

At the end of the day, I think it’s pretty close to the whole article’s theory:

They want Russia to have Europe, China to have Asia and Oceania and the United States to have North and South America.

Then they’d back up each other when they need to. Basically three rulers who’d rule in their own empires. It would not surprise me if that’s the axis they want. Like it mentions: a big tell would be if we start to back out of Europe and Asia.

If that is the case, Asian countries wouldn’t be able to do anything if China got aggressive nor would South American countries if the United States did. The biggest challenge is Europe can hold their own against Russia but they wouldn’t stand a chance if any of the other Super Powers backed up Russia. Same goes for India vs China I guess, but if Russia or America sided with China it’d be a quick conflict.
