They made Seth look like a chump. Play up the obvious injury angle and have Seth beat him until they stop the match. Then finish the feud when Cody returns from his injury seeking revenge.

That's not a bad suggestion at all, and makes the most sense tbh - but between Seth being Teflon in that upper-mid spot and Cody going on the shelf for at least 4-6 months, this was a great way to maintain his prestige and cement his spot as their premier babyface.

Losing due to the injury and then getting a win when he comes back would've been routine business like a fart in the wind.
