There's no such thing as superteams. The rest of the NBA just happens to be :trash:

Why are these players so opposed to that phrase? As if its derogatory or some shyt. I dont get it. Who fukking cares. They and the cavs are both anomalies in terms of talent in todays nba so they are superteams. Its not even worthy of debate

I think Alvin Gentry, who was an assistant coach for GS before our bum ass FO hired him, said it best about this team on Woj's podcast recently: "I'm not sure if the Warriors are the most talented or stacked team ever, but I do believe they have the best chemistry of any team I've ever seen or been involved with."

So Durant's obviously wrong but he ain't wrong at the same time in a way. On paper, the Cavs are arguably just as deep if not a slight bit deeper at least as far as offensive options go, and they're spearheaded as a whole by one of the 5 best players in NBA history, something even GS can't say they have right now. Warriors just play better basketball; more passing, real suffocating defense, less shytty shots, etc. I think they have and are gonna be so dominant because they somehow actually manage to play above their talent level; you put the 3 best shooters in NBA history on one team in basically any other system and they'll undo themselves fighting over/taking turns with the ball. It was a real problem for the big 3 in Miami for quite a while. That amazingly hasn't and won't be an issue for these guys, which is amazing/terrifying.
Nah Cavs aren't deeper, not even close. GSW is like 8 deep with 2-way players which is unheard of. Great shooters, unselfish and all play hard.:sadbron:

I think the problem is that the term is used in a derogatory way to question the players' competitive spirit. Implies that they're unfairly stacking the deck for the easy path, so of course players are going to take umbrage to it. I mean, if we're going by the strict definition, the Warriors are a super team, but I could see why KD or any other Warriors player would object to it in the context it's used.

By your definition of Super Team the Warriors are the exact opposite :skip:

Super Team is intended when players of superstar talent team up together. The fact the general public doesn't give the scouts/team more credit for drafting well shows the gen pop basketball IQ.

Eastside of that Motor
I can't get mad at Oakland. Steph was throwing up 30 in college and was still slept on, only on espn for getting his ankles broke. Who was klay Thompson? Hey were saying dray didn't have a position and wouldn't play. They got a journeyman like Shaun Livingston. They got iggy who was told he couldn't be a 2 man. They got bogut who was damn near a bust at number 1. They got McGee this year who was he laughing stock of the league. And then after being the most slept on Cali team forever they finally get hot and draft a premium free agent.

Salute the dubs don't shoot

Thats on them if they take it in that way. No one can objectively look at either team and say they arent superteams, including the players. Its a contrived media narrative but they should just own it

KD is the same guy that called Kawhi a system player. Maybe he doesn't think as much of Klay, Draymond, or Steph as we all do, since he thought they were missing a top dog.
