KD is the same guy that called Kawhi a system player. Maybe he doesn't think as much of Klay, Draymond, or Steph as we all do, since he thought they were missing a top dog.

:yeshrug:

I said this long ago. The Warriors have one superstar (KD) and a bunch of good role players.

KD is right. They are no super team. They are just feasting on a weak NBA.

So accurate. This GSW is a superteam of the likes we've never seen. And I'm ok with it.

Boston Celtics with no real talent won 50+ games this year and had the #1 seed in the Eastern Conferences.

Just because Golden State won 73 games last year didn't make them a great team. They just feasted on weak competition.

KD is right. They are no super team.

A majortity of past championship teams would obliterate them.

I can't get mad at Oakland. Steph was throwing up 30 in college and was still slept on, only on espn for getting his ankles broke. Who was klay Thompson? Hey were saying dray didn't have a position and wouldn't play. They got a journeyman like Shaun Livingston. They got iggy who was told he couldn't be a 2 man. They got bogut who was damn near a bust at number 1. They got McGee this year who was he laughing stock of the league. And then after being the most slept on Cali team forever they finally get hot and draft a premium free agent.

I actually agree with him. I don't even believe in this narrative of "super" teams. What the fukk is that, in reality?

They're just a team, like every other team. Somebody has to be the best, somebody has to win the championship, in a five-on-five sport like basketball talent can't just be evenly split so some teams are going to have more talent than others and one team is going to have more talent than everyone else. Despite what we saw this postseason I'm not of this belief that the Warriors are some unstoppable force who no one will ever be able to compete with. This is the NBA, there have been great teams every season, the other teams/organizations figure shyt out and compete.

Why are these players so opposed to that phrase? As if its derogatory or some shyt. I dont get it. Who fukking cares. They and the cavs are both anomalies in terms of talent in todays nba so they are superteams. Its not even worthy of debate
because it is used as a pejorative by fans and the media.

If you arent using superteams as a slur....and solely define superteams as a collection of ATM Superstars/All Stars/HoFers teaming up then that only encompasses a small number of teams in NBA history. And an even smaller number of superteams have actually won titles.

There is a misconception about the NBA that sheer individual talent is the sole reason for winning a title. When the reality is well coached efficient teams will overcome talent nine times out of 10.

The focus on individual talent over team efficiency and cohesion is why you have idiots saying insane shyt like the dynasty bulls outside of Jordan were a weak team.

A team of frauds who couldn't beat a healthy Cavs team added a bum who had been owned by LeBron his whole career.

Doesn't sound like a super team to me. :troll:

I think Alvin Gentry, who was an assistant coach for GS before our bum ass FO hired him, said it best about this team on Woj's podcast recently: "I'm not sure if the Warriors are the most talented or stacked team ever, but I do believe they have the best chemistry of any team I've ever seen or been involved with."

So Durant's obviously wrong but he ain't wrong at the same time in a way. On paper, the Cavs are arguably just as deep if not a slight bit deeper at least as far as offensive options go, and they're spearheaded as a whole by one of the 5 best players in NBA history, something even GS can't say they have right now. Warriors just play better basketball; more passing, real suffocating defense, less shytty shots, etc. I think they have and are gonna be so dominant because they somehow actually manage to play above their talent level; you put the 3 best shooters in NBA history on one team in basically any other system and they'll undo themselves fighting over/taking turns with the ball. It was a real problem for the big 3 in Miami for quite a while. That amazingly hasn't and won't be an issue for these guys, which is amazing/terrifying.

To add to that they could probably have even less turnovers that they do now

I can't get mad at Oakland. Steph was throwing up 30 in college and was still slept on, only on espn for getting his ankles broke. Who was klay Thompson? Great points. Curry was a HUGE question mark just a couple years ago with his injury situation. And we all remember when the Dubs fans were mad as hell when they traded...Montal Ellis to get Bogut. FO made lots of great decisions.
