The type of reform youre speaking off goes against the very nature of America. We will never go "fully automated luxury space communism" because America was literally created as a nation for rich nikkas to fukk off cash without the obligation of paying dues to a larger nation/empire.
This created a inflated sense of selfishness and individualism in the working class populace.
With that said, America was at its safest and most profitable with a mix of a strong police force along with a strong social net.
Unless a sweeping wave of solidarity washes over America (lol), Americans are largely too violent, have guns, are stupid and too mistrusting to function in a country with a defanged police force.
Though that doesnt mean we shouldnt try to better the social welfare of the populace. Its a balancing act and a problem that wont be fixed in our lifetime OR our childrens.
