Good. I don't know much about the Weeknd outside of his (usually excellent) music but I love to see people with a platform speak up on racism and bullshyt.

Watch. This time next week when he's stepping out with a 6 foot pawg supermodel, they'll be back to the:

Look at this c00n:angry:
Gotdamn sellout:angry:
Star Boy was wack to me anyway

:mjlol:

Whose man is this?

Why does he feel the need to interject his uninformed opinion into conversations within the black community?

It was though. This you see the t-shirt the white kid had?

Black kid : "monkey". Animal. But hey, he's cool!

White kid : "survival expert". meaning white savior can survive and conquer/rule the jungle (and the animals in it).

This is textbook racism. And yes it's that deep.
Yep. I first just saw the little black king and I thought ‘hey that’s probably some code for nig g e r but hey it seems like a jungle series so whatever :manny:

Then when I saw the little white boy with the tour guide and expert shirt :gucci:

Blatant racism and even worse they thought they could pull through with it. I actually like H&M but Ima have to cancel them

I think it was a faux pas on H&M's side but I don't think it warrants outrage.

I don't think it was deliberate.

Yeah. A lot of folks don't think it was deliberate. I'll set my comments about them aside for a minute and just say.... fukk it, let's go with that. Say it wasn't deliberate.

An ad campaign for a brand this size is going to be seen by many eyes and pass though many hands before it even gets to TV or print. No doubt this was seen by dozens of people well beforehand. Some of whom most assuredly saw this young black boy wearing a "monkey" tag and went "Hmm..." Now whether they got loud about it is up for debate but someone, somewhere saw this shyt and knew it was a problem, yet it was approved anyway.

Whether it's deliberate or not doesn't really matter to me at this point. Somebody knew this shyt was sus but no one cared enough to do anything.

We're fresh off of 8 years of the Obamas being called apes, monkeys and all manner of primates so it's not like this is some long forgotten racial slur that most people never heard before. It LOOKS bad and someone damn well knew that. But...here we are.

Such a shame that a black man who dates white women is doing more for black people than those who date black :wow:
