I can see this going to downtowns across the country that's going through gentrification. So I guess the reason developers were slow on this topic is because they were waiting on funds from the feds. :francis:

Here's info if anyone cares to read it.

if the federal government is giving funds for affordable housing, affordable should be defined as a reasonable home you can afford working fulltime on federal minimum wages.
define "affordable housing"

Affordable Housing: Affordable housing is generally defined as housing on which the occupant is paying no more than 30 percent of gross income for housing costs, including utilities.

If I'm not mistaking, affordable housing is usually dictated by the state and local government. This isn't a new process and we seen this happen during gentrifications. Real Estate developers getting low interest loans and tax incentives to build homes in the name of affordable housing. The trick is actually how long those new homes are classified as affordable.

To get on affordable housing in my area a family of three have to make a max combined income of no more than around $37,000.
:childplease:

Which basically means if you don't work at Popeyes you don't qualify. They should revist the income criteria so it would cover more of the middle class cause this ain't doing nothing for folks stuck in the 40k 50k 60k range how are getting fukked paying rent and can't afford a mortgage
