I can see this going to downtowns across the country that's going through gentrification. So I guess the reason developers were slow on this topic is because they were waiting on funds from the feds. :francis:

Here's info if anyone cares to read it.

Thanks

The real solution is to just give the money directly to the people with housing insecurity. They are more than capable of housing themselves
the problem isn't they "aren't capable of housing themselves" the problem is the landlords and developers are literally the reason for a lack of affordable housing

private landlords and developers also cannot be trusted to properly run buildings anymore, they will literally do the bare minimum and know that people don't have a choice if they want a place to rest their head at night.

affordable housing in todays economy doesn't just mean people who are dead broke, it means people who are making mid 5 figures at this point. they need to have options that aren't run my slumlords and developers only in the game to make money.

housing needs to be a right, not a business and way for rich people to grow their wealth even more.

also we need to try having these things run federally, not by local/state housing authorities.

Watch CACs embezzle the money and watch not a cent of that money go towards homeless black men

Or specifically what they'll do is have a lottery designed to bring in a certain middle class group of workers and have the building marked with mixed apartments with the higher floors designed as condos for wealthier clientele'... :birdman:

That contract going to their white developer buddies... aint gonna be no bidding on that shyt..:mjlol:
That ain't how it works. The funds are disbursed via HUD. HUD will get bids from developers and contractors to do the work and EVERY penny must be accounted for via audits. There's a whole mechanism in-place already for this type of thing.

To get on affordable housing in my area a family of three have to make a max combined income of no more than around $37,000.
:childplease:

Which basically means if you don't work at Popeyes you don't qualify. They should revist the income criteria so it would cover more of the middle class cause this ain't doing nothing for folks stuck in the 40k 50k 60k range how are getting fukked paying rent and can't afford a mortgage

If you haven't noticed, they don't want to fix that...
