on a person to person level yes, not like the word fakkit is a staple in my vocabulary, but i have said it in a context that really had nothing to do with sexual orientation.

in the case of the OP, he came out the gate obviously having an issue with who's sucking who's dikk, that's not always the case though.

haha - but surely you understand that to associate negativity with a derogatory term for a group of people just broadens the insult. I'm not saying I didn't do it when I was a teenager - but as you get older - you have to be more careful with what you say. I'm 32 now - I'd look ridiculous using that word in the context you've described - and people wouldn't necessarily understand the distinction and assume I'm homophobic.
