They're betting that the touchy-feely, "we empower everybody" type of commish that Adam Silver is trying to be can't afford to tell a bunch of (mostly black) women to deal with that pay scale without looking bad.

They're also betting that the owners want to look like they care about empowering women and will pay extra to do so.

If they go to smaller arenas they gonna be playing in high school gyms....Only thing i can think of is throw some tramps in those gyms and start playing womens slamball.....Womens pro ball is just never going to make money over here.

I’m actually interested in how this goes. The NBA won’t let the WNBA fold but I wonder how much they’ll even accommodate given how little leverage the players have.
