The work-from-home thing makes sense. But it doesn't apply to every industry.

Restaurants and retail will obviously bounce back. The industry will. But there will be thousands and thousands of restaurants that went bankrupt and closed down.. The ones that do will probably be rewarded - less competition. Plus, people will be itching to dine in for the first time in months.

It will be a good industry for owners, but tough as hell for the workers. There wont be as many jobs. But the economy won't be strong enough for investors to sweep in and open up new restaurants. So, like I said, the restaurants that do survive will :eat::eat::eat::eat:

Things will creep back to normal, but I don't think the economy will ever be as strong as it once was. The modern world has always been a ticking time bomb, and we'll experience other disruptive events - wars, recessions etc.

China will supercede the US as the number one power.

They'll get bolder and start touching us up :dame:

Maybe 20-30 years from now, theyll be makin the same type of investments in America they make in Kenya.

Black Friday we will be back to the status quo %100
"I don't know, I don't think I can ever get within 6 feet of another human being. I'm just gonna work at home and do skype dinner parties for the rest of my life. They told me it was safe to socialize and they lied :sadcam:"

Yeah, that makes zero sense.

Everything is going to go more virtual as we will prove within the forthcoming weeks that we are capable of working from home.
Whatever restrictions are in place will not really be lifted,we will be told they have but something from the restrictions they put in place will remain. I don't know what, but whenever certain restrictions are put on us they aren't really repealed by government. E.G we are still not allowed to fly with more than 100ml of liquid in our hand luggage.

Home Broadband and home WIFI services will be stretched leading to the implementation of faster services capable of sending more info down the line quicker

Introduction of the 4 day week, with more people having the capability to work from home it makes sense. Only a matter of time before its a 3 day week etc.

Office buildings converted to living space to help tackle housing issues as physical offices downsize due to less people being in a physical work space. You can also hire meeting spaces anywhere already, so makes sense.

This is a great analysis and actually paints the picture of potentially a simpler future. The problem is finding work for the millions impacted by the pandemic, jobs that won't be able to survive it. How do you replace those jobs in an ever-increasing automation and work-from-home culture, where are they coming from?

The big hope for me is a shift in how we view safety nets and profit. If a big corporation needs a bailout after like 2 weeks of no income :francis:

And this shows more than ever how important shyt like universal healthcare and unemployment insurance are. I imagine the financial outcomes of someone who gets the 'rona who has a job with benefits vs nothing is completely different, and it really shouldn't be. A lot of shytty companies hold employees hostage with benefits. The whole system needs a rethink.

There's no way everything goes back to what it was :comeon: Y'all are trippin. This is a world changing event.

It's hard to say exactly what all will change, but what NEEDS to change is this structure of our global economy. Corona is kicking Capitalism's ass. Humanity placed it's safety and well being into pieces of paper and plastic cards-- And we're finding out just how useless it all is.

Nothing is gonna change.

Humanity will keep marching towards its own destruction.
that part

this why people are advocating for the sick to hurry up and die for economies

they could care less.

a very small amount of the populace will embrace the lessons we learn from this, somes lives will be changed. most will put their horse blinder back on and keep marching
