Schalke are a good development team, but they never win shyt and inconsistent. Schalke have a ceiling, everyone leaves them to get better. Meyer and Leon this year. Draxler and Leroy summers previous, Ozil too.
Whoa breh, Schalke isn't inconsistent, the problem is that our young players get plucked by bigger clubs. The majority of young talent leave too early and never reach their potential. Also Schalke give to much faith to these young players thinking they'll resign and then some of them walk to another club for free (my biggest issue with Schalke). Honestly, if Schalke could hold in to their young talent they would have been won the league ( we lost the league on the last day in 03 or 04; I try not to remember it). Also the majority of players that leave Schalke aren't reaching their potential for every Ozil and Neuer ( both are special players) there are plenty of Draxlers and Holtbys who left to early and didn't reach their full potential.
Schalke doesn't have a ceiling problem. It's hard to keep a young player at the club when you have richer clubs from multiple leagues throwing money at young players it's hard to keep their head on straight. If all these players stayed at Schalke they would be just as good.
