Why don't black women understand that this does not improve their image by crying to people that fukked up your image in the first place.:dahell:

This. It makes absolutely no fukkin sense for our women to run to our oppressors to talk about these things. fukking disgusting man.

I'm tired of this micro view of racial issues. Yes, the media portrayal of black women isn't good - especially in music. But the same could be said about women in general. Meanwhile black women are graduating from college at higher rates than just about anyone else, 60% of black college students are black women, the amount of black women creating businesses has increased by nearly a quarter (more than other demographics), etc.

Black women are doing well, and are best positioned to take advantage of economic growth over the next few years as businesses start spending. The nonstop negative stereotyping of them (here, in the white media, in black media, etc) hasn't prevented them from achieving goals. If anything we need a balance in media portrayals of black women - and the same can be said of black men. I love hip hop but I've been disgusted this year by so much stupid shyt. From Nicki Minaj ("I let him hit it cuz he slang cocaine") to Chris Brown, there is almost no positivity on the radio. Whereas pop is heading in a more positive direction.
Brah your issue is you think it's up to women to build the community. That's mens's job. This whole strong, educated, independent black woman mantra is a part of role reversal. Black women can't fight a beauty standard with a degree. You can't turn a beauty pageant into a spelling bee. Black women can't fix their own image. shyt all you have to do is ask black women to create a black beauty standard and they'd be putting overweight women on the pedestal. That's our job. Not theirs.

this is what happens when we fall for the propaganda. we start believing the majority of BW are college educated, 6 figure earning, career women, slaying white america. :snoop:

I never said the majority were earning 6 figures, or that most are "career women." But it's a FACT that black women are enrolling and graduating from college at higher rates, and that black female businesses are on the rise. That's a good thing.

She also said this:

This is literally the same shyt y'all nikkas on this site say. Those reality TV shows make black women look like gold diggers and scandal is bad for black women (making them look like bed wenches).

Like I said, you ignored thos parts of the article just to stick with your narrative.

which is why i quoted this:

'"The music industry is a primary contributor to the worthless black woman. "

its a flat out lie and they know they're just scapegoating less than a handful of rappers.

At the beginning of mean streets

That's not propaganda. Propaganda is that the majority of black women are all uneducated, low income, hoodrats pumping out babies.

I guess they should #staywoke and do nothing but complain online, not get educated since it doesn't matter right? The system is rigged so why try, right?

Meanwhile the company I work at hired a couple black chicks last month, and we have a few more black female interns.

No, what they should do is educate themselves on who's hiring them and how that group has treated them while we've been in America. Whites aren't going to let black women into their jobs regardless how educated they are (and they def won't hold significant influence in these companies).

shyt, this isn't the first time this has happened you know. Right after reconstruction, black men AND women went ham on education. And cacs, being who they are made sure that regardless of how "educated" we were, still practiced white supremacy.

I'd give those black women the same advice I gave my girl: you can't pass down a job to your children. Focus on owning your own business, hiring other black men and women, and doing business with other black businesses.

Unless you believe white people finally decided to stop discriminating against our women.

"The music industry is a primary contributor to the worthless black woman. "

the entire context of the article is black men devaluing black women because of black male rappers and other negative media promotion, not to mention our inherent bad choices we make in women.

Wait, though - men can't make choices in women. As I learned in the article, they can only hope to "attract" women. And then, they can only hope they're the kind Trey Songz sings about.

First off it's not a handful of rappers. It's damn near all of them (at least the ones you hear on the radio) and in the clubs

Second, outside of cacs cacing, if hip-hop isn't the #1 negative contributor of black people's image, I don't know what is. I can't think of another form of media that's bigger.

:troll:I love natural hair. All my g/fs have had natural hair. Weave and perm is cool too but I've never seriously gone out with that chick. I can get with black women doing whatever to their hair. That shyts kind of awesome they have all these options. I am turned off by black women that have a pathology about natural hair though.
