Last year there were a grand total of 0 big men in the league that averaged 20ppg & 10rpg, while this year we have The Brow, Blake and Love doing it with Boogie at 9.9rpg right on the edge. I don't think he'll hit 10.0rpg but he should get some mention since LaMarcus is at 9.0rpg for the season as well. There are some quality big men in the league, and the center position actually is on the come up now with quality everywhere, we're just missing that dominant 7 footer at the 5.
So is it safe to say the endangered species that was the big man is back? On the flipside it seems that the SG position is now the worst in the league, especially when you consider Kobe & Wade don't have many years left, and Harden is now considered the best
He's like Union Cane when Rocky retired, a paper champion only there because the real lords of the position are hobbled. I do like Beal, but I don't see him being a superstar, so the last franchise level SG drafted was Wade, 10 years ago (Franchise C was drafted in 07, just made of glass).
I also like that there seems to be a conscious effort to avoid what happened with Dwight, where now every young big man is seemingly pressured into at least attempting to learn to play in the post
