There have been a lot of whispers that Eric Bieniamy won't land a HC job again this year

He's got 14 seasons and 1 title. At some point the bar gets raised doesn't it? At some point the fans demand more. That's why Caldwell got fired. He got the Lions over the playoff hump only to stagnate. He took a bad team and made them mediocre and the fans wanted more and started calling for his head.

How'd that go for Lions's fans? :patrice:

Same thing can be said for anyone breh
It's not about the X's and the O's, it's about the Jimmies and the Joes.”
That true.

But to me it’s hard for me to be mad at it when he’s an offensive coach with Reid ,Mahomes and those weapons around him .He’s a product of that . But Pederson ,Patricia etc were also products of their environment and got the shot . It is what it is . We need more black GM’s with relationships that’ll put more of us in those nepotism positions.

I’m more confused about guys like Marvin Lewis who cannot get a job after having success in Cincinnati.

I’d take him in Detroit over Bienamy and any other name there out there

Their resume probably isn't better. But a resume only gets you to the interview. How do you impress owners in person comes into play then.

At that interview they want to see if you're Executive level talent...very different from supervisor or management.

This is how they switch the game up on you.

You can't say this when Freddie Kitchens, Zac Taylor, Matt Rhule, the Lions about to hire a career TE coach as their HC, and Joe Judge are getting the interviews! How does their resume even get them in the fukking room??

They set up all of this bureaucracy for us, but for them all they need is a co-sign. You're writing out how it should work in theory, but in actual practice those names I mentioned above should've even be in interviews. Matt Rhule was a career coach at fukking Temple, somehow was mentioned as a "hot" coach, but was only able to get a Baylor job for 2 years, and parlayed that into becoming the HC at Carolina. Matt Rhule didn't beat a ranked opponent at Baylor while he was there.

Detroit Lions have never made a Super Bowl and have 1 NFC Championship game appearance in the Super Bowl era, and that dude is talking about raising the bar. :what:

Who aren’t as good as they are without a talented OC calling the plays.
Who’s the primary play caller for the chiefs :ohhh:

my point being, it’s such a false equivalency to imply that Bienemy is what broke the trend for the guy, and not him having his by far most overall talented offense :stopitslime:

You do realize Mahomes wasn't a sure thing when he got drafted and the primary person responsible for his development isn't the actual head coach, right? There are actual stories out there of how terrible Mahomes was when he first came into the NFL.

The head coach calling the plays on Sunday is only a small percentage of running the offense. The coordinator designs the game plan and designates how to coach that plan to all of the position coaches. He decides who to develop and how. The head coach doesn't sit in on all those meetings during the week. That's the OC setting up everything. Andy Reid calling the plays is only 10% of the work when it comes to the offense itself.

The Andy Reid calls the plays though argument is the false equivalency because he's driving the car that Bieniemy built.
