There might be a racist in my sociology class

So today in class we were discussing a study about job discrimination and how the white male with a criminal record is more likely to get a job than a black man without a record.

People said that racism was still prevalent in America and of course some kid brought of Ferguson.

This pale, smug, twig of a cac muttered "fukk that shyt, that's stupid". I looked over at him and he gave me one of those Edward Furlong smirks from American History X. And I'm like Okay, maybe I interpreted that wrong or some shyt. But He just looked like the type to me. He's one of those elitist wannabe cacs too.

Then he was talking about how there was a white 9 year old with an airsoft gun that got gunned down but nobody talks about that.

Its literally the second week and I'm sensing things from this kid and I might get heated over some shyt because racism is going to be talked about often in the class. And if he says some slick shyt i might catch a body in that bytch

I agree with Mr.210 on this..generally speaking, the purpose of these types of classes is to entertain a healthy debate in an arena of ideas and experiences. If anything, this class should be teaching the OP to "grow" thicker skin.

That's true. The class is gonna cause conflict, that's the point of it. If you wanna get some ammo, just ask some of us on the coli. we could flood you with verifiable evidence you can throw at him.

I remember my semester in college this middle age white dude, took an African-American studies class, and was asking straight up questions during the lecture needless to say he got the memo, after about the 5th week that he was in danger of getting his ass kicked, when he asked something obscene related to slavery, man the whole class literally turned to look at him like

I had American Gov't during the 2012 election....there was older white woman that was very vocal about her political preference. After election night and the results were in she was highly upset and I enjoyed seeing her in misery

Breh, just understand; he lives in a world that tells him black people are as good as he is. He lives in a world that doesn't give him too many reasons to even sympthize with our plight. He, more likely, lives in a world where he doesn't even socialize with black folk outside of school.

There's little to no communications between us. But, we have to rely on whites for jobs. smh






When you add white people not socializing with black people with the unbalanced image we have, in the media, it stirs the pot of misunderstanding.

Not to mention; WE DO NOT CONTROL OUR IMAGE, IN THE MEDIA.

I don't want to provide too many excuses. Because, I'm still waiting for the anti-government Tea Party'ers to make a statement about the sum of their own worst fears.





We are already taught to be subserviant to police, but, we are still disrespected and dehumanized.

And it's a shame we have to teach our kids this.

I'm not down with this CAC Movement on here (I'd ban nikka/er, CAC & c00n, on here, because there's too many white males on this site to throw these words around), but, this is the reality of America.

White people are more often than not given racist messages and they have no frame of reference to disagree, because, they don't socialize with us.
