What? The year before winning the National Title; Vince Young's team beat Michigan in the Rose Bowl. That Rose Bowl team only had 1 loss. That team was 12-1 or 13-1 or some ridiculous record like that. You might want look up Vince Young, because he was an unreal college quarterback.

Tebow was an SEC media creation. He wasn't the starting quarterback on that first Florida national title team. Chris Leake was the starting quarterback on that team. In fact Leake won the MVP in the title game. Tebow was a gimmick is first year. Leake would lead the team all the way to the goal line and the Meyer would send Tebow in to plow through the line or to throw a jump pass. No one knew at the time that the jump pass was Tebow's best throw.
:dead: :umad:

He threw 12 TDs and 11 interceptions that year. It was a decent year for him individually, but Texas was also stacked with talent. It's not like he carried the team that year.

I gotta drop by and sprinkle some of this hater dust in this thread. As a FSU fan, fukk Tebow.

But it is kinda funny how the college football revisionist historians treat Chris Leak like he was Reggie Ball.

His following is/was so crazy that it scared teams away. Never have we seen a guy takeover mid-season, after the team had a 1-4 record, lead them to the 2nd round of the playoffs and never be given a chance to start again. You have never seen that and will never see that again. ANY other QB that did that would have gotten a deal somewhere and would have been given a fair chance to compete for the starting job. shyt on his QB skills all you want but his insane following is the biggest reason he was never given another chance.

I disagree. His following didn't hurt him until it was clear he was just a backup. Teams don't want backups who are a distraction.
The reason Tebow never caked off of his run because it was clear he wasn't very good, and the playoff run was a fluke. They made the playoffs at 8-8.
Tebow averaged 125 yards passing a game and completed less than half of his passes. The offense averaging 18.5 points a game. :francis:
Doesn't work in today's NFL. Can't be out here trying to scrape 17-10 3 yards and a cloud of dust victories anymore.
Tebow can't pass, that's what killed him. Unless a team is willing to adopt a gameplan where they just run all game, Tebows never getting a "fair chance."

Young also ran for 1,100+ yards and 14 touchdowns that same season. Think about this; Young almost averaged 7 per carry for his career, yet people think that Tebow is this great running quarterback; even though he only averaged a little over 4 yards per carry for his career.
Vince Young
Tim Tebow

Btw,Tebow's teams were really stacked with talent. He played with guys like Percy Harvin, Aaron Hernandez, the Pouncy Brothers and Urban Meyer, on and on and on.

He's a fakkit with ADD. fukk him and his legion of followers. Kept them convicts in line but he better thank God (and I know he does) everyday because they MADE him. Let's not pretend like he took a team full of Tulane level talent to the promise land. Never forget the first year he took over with that talent, he went 9-4 or some shyt. Gonna be a sad day in U.S. history when he eventually wins the republican nomination and become POTUS. I'm outta here when it happens faster than if they repeal the thirteenth amendment
