Retention and comprehension are two different things
Salute to you if you can but most speed readers are not paying attention to themes
Usually they’re the type of people who read books and watch movies only once

I can't front, for the most part I do only read or watch once. But I like to follow that up with breakdowns and shyt, which is kind of my favorite part, finding discussions online about the material. It's like being your own book club :pachaha:

I can memorize an whole small book in a day easily ( less than 100 pages) not word for word tho

Read in silence no music and with ear muffs, read out loud for best results

After each chapter close your eyes and make images with a lil recap of the chapter

After finishing the book close your eyes and recap all the images from the chapters

Or

Close your eyes and talk out loud like you are explaining the book to another person

Too easy:yeshrug:

I also learned how to change a bed with the person still in it. I'm sure it will be useful one day. :skip:

I answered like that cuz nikkas on here always be like, 'If you so dope, what are you doing with it? :stopitslime:'

There's no way you can really comprehend whatever it is you're reading that fast. I mean maybe stories, but I doubt a motherfukker can read a whole cook book and know how to make everything in it without looking back for reference

Actually cook books are the easiest you can just create the images in your head on what you have to do and the ingredients

For better retention you need concentration a lot of people read with all types of distractions goin on

A book a week is a good especially if you commute on public transport. I think I did 10 books last year, but I read more of the newspaper and magazines (The Economist etc) than books these days.

Next year I'm looking to get to at least a book every two weeks. I do feel my vocabulary has been blunted.

My commute to and from work every day is about 2 hours total on the train and I've been a fast reader since childhood. I lost count around the 100th book, but I'm confident I probably hit a shade under 150 books last year alone. The only downside is when you're reading this many books back to back to back, you can often forget details but I have no problem rereading.

From age 3 all the way until I started college I would just read a book until I finished it.

Used to get in trouble in class for reading when I came in, getting told by the teacher to put the book away, and then putting it on the floor and reading it while it was down there.

I space things out a but more now, but I'll get through a 200 pg or less book in one sitting.

My NYC - NJ commute had me powering through books every few days (fukk the NY/NJ Port Authority :pacspit:)
I used to get in trouble for the exact same shyt :ohhh:

Reading totally unrelated books when the class was boring, or reading late in my bed and hiding the book under the pillow when my parents checked on me :russ:

I read the same book several times. My mother thought there was something wrong with me, but she spoke to a psychologist friend who told her that i was re reading for different reasons. I was learning how the author crafted the storyline, how they laid it out, etc. I became a pretty good writer as a result.
Like I said salute if you can
I’m taking about speed readers in general

I think much of it is personality when you really truly enjoy something it's probably nothing to accomplish this. Many others find books boring including myself tbh. I do enjoy reading about some subjects but don't love book reading.
