You have to go in with the attitude that you're offering them YOUR skills, not you're hoping they give you a job.
This is true. In my industry my resume tape speaks for itself. I don’t have to sell anything to them but that. The least pressure I ever had was getting my current job in Charlotte because the dude saw my tape and liked it.. My interview wasn’t even really an interview

That feeling when your name doesn't really give away your race so the non black interviewer expects that you're the same race as them, then they see a tall young black man walk in:wow:. Then you see the look of disappointment on their and you start to realize you wasted your time going there and you already know you're not getting the job:wow:.

Smh literally looking at this job that I didnt get right now and you posted this.

It was a lil partime position and the interview and the energy was off as soon as I walked in the office.

Smh I had to email them a month after to get a status update(this is when they told me I didnt get the job) Then a couple weeks after I called the updated my status online.:francis:.

STEM careers are harder to start than I thought I guess...

which STEM?

Bigger companies might be your best bet. They're more likely to try to abide by EOE laws to duck lawsuits.

Summer internships are good too, but like one of my professors explained to us that's basically a white privilege backdoor.

A friend of mine who is very good at his job told me that he never, ever, does work preparing for interviews. In his opinion if they want you they want you. If they don't they don't and there is nothing you can do to change that. Gringos get given the benefit of the doubt to a degree that brehs don't get. If you get the right interviewer and you know how to do you job you will be fine.

If you get the wrong one there is nothing (:ufdup:and I mean nothing) you can do to change their mind. As soon as they start with the ticks, unease, odd questions, etc it is a wrap and time to get to the choppa.

Thinking back to the jobs that you got in the past, I bet that in most cases the interviews were smooth, they were comfortable, they liked you, they didn't grill you excessively. And the ones you didn't get were the opposite.

I know a yt guy who knows next to nothing about technology but somehow manages to jump from job to job, from subject area to subject area. He is on linkedin now writing BS about devops. He does that because people are more likely to assume competence to learn or improve in areas that he is not familiar with and more likely to assume a good team fit personality wise. Meanwhile I know brehs that are 10 times more capable who do not benefit from the the same degree of trust.

I interviewed for my current position over the telephone. I know for a fact that I would not have been given the job if I had interviewed in person and I am now their star man. They smile and grin but I know what they really think.

My main issue if it's a white interviewer are their intentions. Will they give me a fair shot or are they pre-judging me based on their racial beliefs? It's an uneasy feeling to have.

:russ: I remember I had a interview with fedex corporate, I knew I didn't fit the culture.... :mjpls:No personalty what so ever, complete 100% corporate robots.... all I can say is keep applying and eventually you will come across a diverse spot or person that hires you.

Can’t you say that for anything though? Getting a business or home loan. Buying a car, etc? Another human holds your fate in their hands in pretty much everything we do.
Yea but with an interview you're actually selling yourself or attempting to sell your services. I already told you on the paper what I'm capable of doing now I gotta fukking lap it up and fake talk and act in hope that you will hire me. It's disgusting if you think about it. I think an interview should consist of the applicant carrying out the specific job or anything of the sort. Fuc does being social and confident in conversation have to do with my effectiveness you know ?

Job interviews are only emasculating when youre a unskilled bum.

Last interview i wemt to they gave me a written test. Almost got a perfect score except 1 question. I showed them that their drawing was wrong, so their answer was wrong. They changed the test becasue of me.. :laff:

Obviously they offered me the job and i said id do it, but just didnt show up...

And you know why?

Because my skills are demand.. You fukking tranny loving fakkit

Oh no I agree with what you said, I’m just saying that pretty much applies to everything though.. I remember those days of having to put on your proper voice and wear your best suit to talk to some lame that you’re probably better than as far as the job goes. I don’t have to do that anymore being that I’m like 17 years into my career and only on my third job into it. I don’t and anybody in my shoes shouldn’t have to do all that extra stuff in an interview now... either you want me or you don’t. What you said is very real though.

If you that fly you shouldn't be going on job interviews, you should be interviewing cats to work for you. You sound too smart for folks to be giving you tests to take like you still a student.
