Put it like this:
you have a brother who everyone knows has a serious drinking problem for 20+ years. He gets acquitted of killing someone in a drunk driving accident even though it was obvious he was guilty as sin.. He keeps his behavior under control for about a decade (which doesn't mean he isn't still getting black out drunk). You see him at a bar one night drinking a pitcher of bud light. Its only beer, its within his legal rights to drink, and he hasnt had an incident in a decade.
