Caracas in Venezuela is the most violent city in the world, according to an annual report by the Mexico Citizens Council for Public Security.

The city recorded 3,946 homicides for 2014, or 119.87 homicides per 100,000 residents, according to the annual report.

The rankings were dominated by Central and Southern American cities, with Cape Town the only city outside these regions to feature in the top ten. This increase was 81.4 per cent in a single year.

San Salvador, in El Salvador, saw the highest uptake in the rankings, the rate rising from 61.21 in 2014 to 111.03 in 2015.

Of the top 50 cities, 32 were South American, 13 were from elsewhere in the Americas, 4 were South African and the other was Kingston, Jamaica.

Baltimore and St. Louis are the only American cities, Chicago is not on this list :jbhmm:

I think at one point Cape Town (or some South African city) was the murder capital of the world.
And while it's still dangerous...it's staggering to see that the homicides in Central America are TWICE as high.

Business Insider ran a profile of the 50 most violent cities in the world:

It's a bit surprising just how many Brazilian cities are on that list. Like, way more than I would have ever guessed.

Chicago not even on the top 100 most dangerous cities in just the US. It's just that when the media tells you gullible ass nikkas to be scared of some shyt, yall sure as hell believe them:francis:

I realized some time ago that the places that become the most notorious hoods are because of the city's overall influence on the media and not on the actual levels of crime and danger compared to other places.

Some of the grimiest spots in this country are places 60% of people probably couldn't even point out on a map

Sorry to hear, when it comes to ST Louis and Baltimore.
As far as Baltimore goes, what's even worse is the fact that the violence is heavily concentrated in certain parts. If appointed officials really wanted to do something, they could, but most of the violence occurs in zip codes that most couldn't care less about. Also, things haven't been the same in those same parts since the riots.
