I was listening to the diss song that 50 made towards Clyde Smith(Reakwon) the other day, and 50's blatant disrespect for SI made me curious about how Staten Island was viewed by it's neighboring boroughs in the 80s/90s. More to the point, how persuasive was the view that 50 held? You know...SI nikkas being a bunch of dirty, dust blunt smoking, country bums.

Since I was born in 91 (which is old in terms of coli years) I really have no recollection myself, although I know from my personal experience that Staten is usually viewed as less significant that the other boroughs. Matter of fact, I feel like Yonkers is even more connected to the city than SI is.

So can some of you coli oldheads redpill me on "Soft and Smiling Staten Island"? Bonus question, did wu exaggerate about places like Park hill and Stapleton projects because they felt insecure about how dangerous the other boroughs actually were in the 80s/90s?

Fif didn't want any real static with Wu. That diss track was the weakest diss track he ever created. He just threw some weak diss lines at the end of a track he already had.

That's what he did in all his beefs though, and the reason D-Block slayed him.

Nah. Those D-Block disses went much harder than that Wu diss track. By far his weakest diss effort. It was half hearted. The n!gga was mumbling some bullsh!t at the end of it.
