Well when I say Neo-Soul, I'm just talking about a specific movement with very
specific artists. I do agree that Neo-Soul was directly influenced by Hip-Hop but I don't know
if I'd consider it a sub-genre of Hip-Hop but instead a new take on something that existed well before
Hip-Hop was even a thought.

Now, neo soul is a nostalgia based medium.
that encompasses anyone who uses a live band aesthetic with cultural hiphop based aesthetics.
When originally it used to ONLY encompass the flagship kedar massengberg artist as a lone standard.
Yet over time that standard was commercialized and b*stardized. to just include anything with a live band and especially a rapper that is not jazz great wynton Marseilles himself, to as act as extreme differentiation.
So, any artist doing live band instrumental based rnb or rap is termed neo soul now.
I know it is original massenberg flagship artist in this lost its origins.
Yet the artist who drew within that massenberg flagship artistry as smaller draws.
In large oversaturated abundance pretty much took the label of the genre and made it encompass their live band wing act.

where she disses the direction of her contemporaries who piggy backed onto her genre.

The open space in bpm's are why they have so may socalled flows.
Or really performance which comes from the fact.
these nikkaz use writing pools and the none of them were ever onkey.
when the bpm's were in the sweet spot of emcee'n.
Which is why they have a funny cartoon delivery.
Plus they have slower bpm's because they are not really rapping they are actually singing and just have the r kelly style of lemme fit in with these emcees and not feel out of place.
None of these new guys are really emcees like that.
