This is what never receiving corporal punishment leads us to. When I was growing up, i knew not to steal or commit crimes cause my dad AND my mom would have went upside my big head.

They beat me up for way less than this. If I was out there committing crimes?

My parents had me SHOOK as a jit. They would always tell me "I brought you in this world and ill take you out of it."

A Mashup of my childhood would be me doing stupid stuff and getting whipped with an extension cord, slapped upside the head and getting the taste slapped out of my mouth, getting choked out by my mom one time, my dad bodyslamming me when I started feeling myself in my teens and also giving me a gut punch one day when I thought I was old enough to talk back.

And I wouldn't have it any other way. My parents raised me to be a well adjusted member of society, a productive member of society cause they taught me that for every action, there's consequences. And many of those consequences are going to be painful.

Those fools that robbed your mom was never taught that, OP, and its sad. Our community thought we were becoming more progressive when we stopped whipping and punishing the children, but instead we regressed. The state of the mindset of black youth in America has never been as terrible as it is now.

To be honest, sounds like your parents just physically abused the fukk out of you. If you was gonna be thugging wasn’t no beatings gonna stop it. If you could just beat your kids to keep them out of the streets, then there wouldn’t be any crime

These issues were addressed in the Moynihan Report back in 1964.

Why do people just avoid reading it?

They're not built differently. They're built the same way as they were in the 80s and 90s.
Beat me to it.

Not that it's an excuse, but moreso that it's a reality that had been on the backburner until the last 5-10 years

:mjcry: It’s ok breh, this is abuse. It’s not parenting. Psychological and physical one.

I hear what you're saying but here's the thing. I started going down the wrong road at a certain point in my teenage years and then my parents beat the hell out of me and I went ":jbhmm: ya know what? I'm good on that stuff"

I can point to specific instances in my childhood when my dad and my mom corrected my bad behavior that was leading to some dark things, but luckily my folks stopped it before it got too far.

And you can't say that there wouldn't be no thugging cause you've never seen a society when parents beat their children to keep them out the streets.

I have said it here before and I’ll say it again if you’re 12 or older I and you outside looking suspect I’m assuming you’re in gang, have a gun, or on drugs or all 3

Not advocating poppin kids but the older I get the less and less age plays a factor to me :yeshrug:

and if they didn't have a gun they were definitely looking for one, that's why they broke the glove compartment

:wow:
