It's horrific.

And the failure of local, state, and federal governments to implement any serious action to stop these shootings is the even more disheartening part.

The American obsession with hyperindividualism, the mass-proliferation of firearms across the entire country, the vast majority of which are likely to never be used, the concentration of weapons in the hands of the isolated, paranoid, racist, xenophobic or outright fascists, and the ease of access - not to mention the danger of the angry, entitled, and obsessed all bubbles into the danger of mass-murder.

Even worse, the normalization of mass-murder culturally makes it that much easier.

Mental illness is not the number one issue - it is just one of several.

You know
Only thing you can do is protect your self. Carry a strap just in case.

My work worked in a mall where a mass shooting happened, was locked down. There was a mass shooting 5 mins from my house at a restaurant I take my daughter to. Literally the spot we go to after every cheerleading practice to get a corndog and ice cream cone.

shyts even worse if you're black, motherfukkers wanting to kill you just for living.

Protect yourself and your loved one. If you love them make sure they protect themselves to the best of their ability.
Having a gun is not going to prevent these situations brehs! Having a gun does not make you invincible to these lunatics. This happened in Texas for crying out loud.
