my brother used to work at Charles Oakleys car wash
Retiring in your mid thirties, if you don't get a anaylst job etc no one wants to rot at home every day.
Man, have anyone paid attention to Referee salaries?
Im shocked more pro athletes dont become refs
Western culture has fukked things up in the sense that our whole lives revolve around work. Granted I always myself always working towards something and probably would if I were in these retired basketball players positions as well but still it's interesting how we think. Set for life but still finding the need to work to find meaning in our lives.

wouldnt that be more a reason to turn into a ref? Not like money should be a major problem while they work up the ladderbecause you can't retire right from the NBA to be a ref. you gotta put in time working in the shytty d-league or high school and all that bullshyt where u makes no money, and HOPE the NBA calls you up one day.

Were u a pro athlete? It's INCREDIBLY difficult to be a ref. You can make big money as a ref as just a regular guy, but it's tough. I was a YMCA ref and even that is one of the most difficult things I've done
Leon Wood, the ex-6er/Net from the 80's, refs too. Been at it almost 20 years now.@The Taxman Haywood Workman is a ref but you right he shouldn't be the only former player thats a ref
Were u a pro athlete?![]()
