Thats besides the point. The reality is that black women face a lot of issues within the black community that NEVER get discussed. That is what these black women are trying to bring attention to--those unique issues that they face on a regular basis. We shouldn't be trying to silence them. We should be trying to listen to them not creating an environment where they feel as though their issues are not important. Lets deal with reality, and stop trying to make excuses for black men.
And I agree. They are doing a shytty job of getting their point across.

I agree with that checklist as it perfectly details the nuances of black male privilege in relation to black women. Thats why I posted it. That wasn't just some "copy and past bullshyt."

let's just pluck some random gems and hold it up to the light of scrutiny:

In general, I have the freedom to travel in the night without fear.

who told NBW that men can travel freely at night without fear? men are the most common victims of violence and murder.

I have the privilege of marrying outside of the race at a much higher rate than black women marry.

is this a privilege or a choice? sounds like more of that "come on, white daddy. please notice us!" rhetoric

What is defined as "News" in Black America is defined by men.

wrong. what's defined as news in black america is STILL defined by the jews/whites that run the damn media. when it comes to just cultural news, it's usually black women and their gossiping asses controlling the narrative.

I can choose to be emotionally withdrawn and not communicate in a relationships and it be considered unfortunate but normal

explain wtf this even means since you agree with everything

I have the privilege of being a part of a sex where the mutilation and disfigurement of a girl’s genitalia is used to deny her sexual sensations or to protect her virginity for males.
doesnt apply to AAs

I am essentially able to do anything inside or outside without my shirt on, whereas women are always required to cover up

because most BM or men in general are against this, right? :heh the reality is most women would HATE to be leered at in public by everyone as they walked around topless.

  • I can believe that the success of the black family is dependent on returning men to their historical place within the family, rather than in promoting policies that strengthen black women's independence, or that provide social benefits to black children.
  • I have the privilege of believing that a woman cannot raise a son to be a man.
  • I have the privilege of believing that a woman must submit to her man.
  • I have the privilege of believing that before slavery gender relationships between black men and women were perfect.
  • I have the privilege of believing that feminism is anti-black.
  • I have the privilege of believing that the failure of the black family is due to the black matriarchy.
  • I have the privilege of believing that household responsibilities are women's roles.
  • I have the privilege of believing that black women are different sexually than other women and judging them negatively based on this belief.

none of these are privileges, in fact. most of the list aren't privileges, they're opinions and choices. :dead:

But this very thread is a perfect example of black male privilege. These comments once again extenuating black women, and their experiences. Some of you are taking their criticisms too personally, and putting more focus on yourselves, and preserving your own image than listening to their concerns, and creating a dialog around them. All the time you hear womanists complaining about having their voices heard, and every time they try this is the pushback (from their own community) that they have to deal with.

how are BW voices not being heard when they are predominately head of the homes? who is drowning them out?

the truth is BW are dealing with buyers remorse. they bet on the wrong horse for 20-30 years. now they want to pretend there's not an entire demographic of BM they've been purposely ignoring. quick to call dudes corny and dry dikk nikkas, then act like we're the same ones beating and killing them. :sas1:

Only people I hear talking about the Black women killed outside of this Korryn woman and Sandra Bland were Black women.
But let this forum tell it, we've been running guerilla warfare against the state police forces every time they kill a Black woman :mjlol:
Mainstream CAC media doesn't make a big deal about BW deaths as much as they do BM. This isn't our fault. Kinda like Colorism, another problems that bw face. WM and WW control the media and it's already proven that WW and WM have a bias against darker skin BW and that this thinking doesn't apply to bm at all, even when talking about attractiveness specifically. Is this BM fault too?

I don't know where you, and other black males, are getting this false oversimplified explanation for the current state of black women from, but it again only serves as another example of black male privilege. You, and others, perpetuate these lies and treat them like facts. Facts that then become the accepted narrative for when we have these types of discussions. A narrative that absolves black men of any responsibility, and holds black women up to standards that even a lot of us are not living up to. And then you expect black women to navigate and exist within that narrative. THAT is black male privilege.
