Expect heavy focus on battery life this year as all the OEMs are stuck with 28nm chips till next year[we'll see if TMSC can actually deliver on those iPhone 6 rumors], so they can't do stupid shyt like put 2560x1600 screens in phones[bar LG] just for show. They actually have to go back to the drawing board and try to come up with innovative(lol) smartphone features. It's also getting harder, and will continue to get harder to justify annual and bi-annual upgrades since the longer they stay on a process node, the cheaper the manufacturing process and parts get, leading to cheap phones with flagship specs[see cyanogen's 1+1] and/or really cheap/good entry level smartphones[see motorola G]. So people will simply hold on to their phone a lot longer on some "my shyt does the same shyt as the new one" mindset, and see no reason to spend $200/$600 just to browse facebook .5 seonds faster.
