These smart phones have basically run out of innovation at this point.

When apple came out with that touchID bullshyt I saw the writing on they wall. They figured that they could sell the same small ass phone and eat off the iOS ecosystem. The wack shyt is that we all KNOW the next iphone is gonna be a big iPod touch that you can make calls on with the power button on the side.

The innovation period is over. It's about selling apps, data collection and 2-year contracts at this point.

shyt is bugged out because I remember my Treo 600 back in the day having "personality" with the antenna on the side even tho it was plastic and had hard buttons. But popping that SD card up in the top made it seem like some next level shyt.

Yeah it does suck. We are at the point where some new radical tech is the only thing that can change up phones.

Yeah. But that's not really a bad thing. It's good that competition has leveled out....we win as consumers.

When the iPhone is forced to go bigger with the screens and smaller/thinner with the bezels. We win

When Samsung decided to knock it off with all the bloatware and gimmick type features or at least disable them out the box in favor of a more refined experience. We win.

Those of course are the obvious examples of course u get the idea.

I love arguing about smart phones. But not on the internet tho. Y'all too crazy breh

I don't think the innovation is necessarily lost but all these companies have everything protected by patents now (some that will probably never come to fruition) that it's stifled the competition. Everyone is afraid to take a chance with something groundbreaking out of fear of being sued (and outside of samsung and apple, what company can really afford that, on top of all the legal shyt and phone bans).

All one has to do is pay attention to what is coming out in the 4th quarter and that pretty much is what dictates what features the majority of the phones that will be released the following year will include. Only thing that separates phones nowadays is design, specs don't really mean shyt when comparing flagship devices cause it's all the same ish.

just dropped some serious cake on a nexus 5. i've barely used it & if it weren't for the fact that i'm planning on putting some apps up on playstore this summer, i would've considered it a complete waste of money. i honestly don't see the allure / interest with smartphones, i'm already too connected to the internet / others, it's reached a saturation point in fact.
