There was a shooting on the strip while we were inside and made us get stuck for a few hours because our driver couldn't get in. It didn't really ruin much for our trip but yeah these cartels creeping into tourists areas now

You would be right. Most people don't even realize what they are celebrating. The history behind it. Because in the West people don't study eastern history in depth. All of this stuff started in the east a long time ago and has taken different forms in western countries.
