Heh I understand those who quit and started working elsewhere
But quitting to stay home= eating off the Government

In a two-parent household, not necessarily. It may be easier and even cheaper for a parent to stay home while the other works. Daycare and aftercare are expensive, as I've found out.

Only thing I can add: brehs keep looking for new opportunities every 8-12 months. Im looking at homes and condos and even with my new wage the shyt looks crazy. Might rent another year but I know in 8 months, gonna flood the market to see if I can get another 20% pay jump. Gotta be disloyal to make the most of things.

Makes sense..but people with little kids are the ones getting checks from the Government right now
With no daycare expenses, they're double dipping

I thought the gov't stopped sending those checks already. Plus, even without the checks, it'll still be cheaper/easier for them.

And honestly, them getting a gov't check is not hurting me as much as employers not paying living wages and giving good benefits to their employees.

To put it another way:
  • unemployment check = 1% inflation
  • shyt wages and crap benefits = 4.9% inflation.
One is hurting me more than the other. :francis:

I'm definitely seeing it. Nearly all Fast Food places are massively understaffed. Curbside pickup for groceries taking 15-30 minutes off peak and 45 minutes to an hour during peak times.

What I really feel bad about is employees stayed getting clowned for working there and companies just ignored it instead of offering real incentives (show me the real money). Now they really have to pay.

I applied to Whole Foods two years ago and got the standard "we moved on to other candidates" email. Now they're sending hiring event emails every week. Ain't enough fine black women and pawgs walking around that place for me to accept a position for less than $22 an hour even part-time now.
