pretty sure they got bought years ago by a big brand.

And you know them cacs aint trying to have that "made for black people" tag on their products :mjpls:

Yep!

It's really stupid though bc the only reason it got so popular was because it was made specifically for black women, by a black woman.

It didn't become popular being a product for everyone. It actually would've flopped if it was marketed that way bc there are already so many established product for white hair. Pantene, Garnier, Herbal essences and the list goes on. Not only that, but Shea is not usually used by white people, so they wouldn't have went anywhere near it.

A large part of the natural community, at least initially, was about black community and black economics. I can't even say that I'm boycotting b/c I haven't purchased Shea Moisture since the Bain buyout. More than that, the writing was already on the wall when they aired that "knock down the aisle" commercial.

All of these dumb motherfukkers need to support Oyin Handmade anyway.

Black owned outta Baltimore and they put a pic of the family who makes it on the packaging. And they have tons of videos on their site of black people using the product and showing how to use it.

BTW any CAC reading this (member or lurker), can suck my motherfukkin dikk. BEYAAAAAAAATCH!!!

Mind blowing black women have yet to capitalize on an industry that they are literally the only target consumer for.

This. Yet the China man and his kin will set up a network of shops in the hood and watch you with the precision of a military drone while in their stores.

Sistas could decimate the black hair care industry in one date year if they went natural. Think about all the bullshyt you gotta do to maintain weaves, extensions, perms, edges and finger waves. Chicks out here spending a small fortune on something being mixed up in a factory next door to where they're building exploding Samsung phones.

Ridiculous.

:heh: who you think was shopping in her little brownstone store in Brooklyn?

My mom took me there as a kid, so I know exactly how Lisa started.
And she offered you a product that you chose to buy

What does she owe you ?

As I Am is really great too. It makes my hair super soft with plenty of slip.
