A dude above me mentioned the guilotinnes as an allusion to the French revolution, which once again did not solve the structural problems of French society, but only set the stage for Napoleon to start his own opportunistic monarchy which did the same sht Louis did.

I think Robespierre being betrayed is what led to napoleon consolidating power. And how was it not an attempt to destroy the old model? The French Revolution sparked massive backlash against monarchism all across Europe. The jacobins even instituted a new religion and calendar. Now maybe they took it too far but it was extremely progressive in context of the times.
