The name Smackdown is played out now and has been for several years. The colors & layout are stale as we've discussed previously; "The Rock's show" needs an overhaul badly

Originally, I always felt the Friday logic was so that people can keep the storylines fresh in their minds, b/c Friday is like a middle point between each Monday. But the reality is, most ppl don't watch Smackdown anymore and only watch RAW. And on the week of a PPV in the past, I dont think anyone was waiting to see what happened on Smackdown to decide if they were going to order the PPV. :comeon:

So I'm all for putting it live on Wednesdays. There's no football on, no other wrestling competition, people get the Tuesday night off so as not to get fatigue from back to back nights of wrestling. People will watch...and they will do so more than Friday nights.

I feel you. I checked about half of an episode about three weeks ago for the first time in 7-8 years. That Friday shyt is horrible for most people over the age of 18. I do wonder about the difference in production costs of RAW vs Smackdown. With the advent of youtube ,locker sites, and spoilers, I'm good.

Also, that's a lot of live television. After three hours of RAW on Monday, are you going to tune in two days later to watch a re-hashed version for two hours?

Nobody watches that shyt because it comes on a goddamn Friday instead of a reasonable day

If it went back to Thursdays, its ratings would go back to rivaling Raw

if it went to thursday it would clash with NXT

if smackdown was moved this would be the schedule

Raw-Monday
Main Event-Tuesday
Smackdown-Wednesday
NXT-Thursday
Friday-nothing

It's probably big with kids. They got the opposite situation as adults. On Monday they can't stay up til 11:05 but on Friday they can stay up til 10..they don't have school the next day and they ain't going out to buy drinks for hoes at the club

As much as I hate the 3 hour RAW. Adding an extra hour to RAW and getting more revenue that way was probably a smarter decision then trying to get people back interested in Smackdown. A name change would be nice though.

That makes sense except that Raw often has the goofier and dumbed down shyt and Smackdown is often the more enjoyable program for mature wrestling fans.

Nobody watches it because they don't have to. Anything worth watching gets redone on RAW, save a few things. It used to be The Shield's show for awhile but now that that's done it went back to sucking a bit.

If they treated SD like an actual B show people would watch. The WWE needs to give the audience a reason to watch Smackdown. Premiere someone on there, make something big happen that will have folks going "fukk I should've watched". Before a PPV, build a big match on there or do something that will directly affect the PPV. If they did that, I guarantee more people would watch Fridays. People usually checkout after the go home RAW because they know nothing of importance is going to happen. Then the WWE isn't going to put their good material on SD because not enough people watch so you're at a stalemate of sorts.

Something's gotta give.

It ain't hard to be the highest rated show on a network best known for showing some of the shyttiest movies in the history of the world. They're just going through the motions with SD right now, and I figure since it ain't hurting their bottom line, it's whatever to them over at the E headquarters.

Couldn't agree more.

Make it a seperate entity, with separate roster and a separate title.

They basically killed it off with no rhyme or reason.

Smackdown was necessary in '99. You had about 6 guys that could main event and a few like Jericho waiting in the wings, they needed extra programming so that everyone could be used

In '14 is Cena, and whoever is getting the tri monthly push at the moment (Reigns right now). It's dead programming. WWE has kinda low key stretched themselves too thin, but it's making money so you really can expect them to make too many changes.

Nothing of importance happens on SD. If it does, they just replay it the following Raw anyway. Even on a go-home week, nothing happens. Being taped with spoilers leaking same day doesn't help either. Live and a non-Friday would be nice, but only if the former are addressed also.

Last time I was tuning in weekly was probably during the Winter 11' Henry/Big Show/D-Bry WHC fukkery. That stretch was great and the last time I can remember where it rivaled (and imo was better than) Raw.
