In recent years, I actually have rooted for the Lakers as a franchise. But I have never been a fan of Kobe. Or at least, I respect Kobe but his fans are just the worst.
It's nice to be a Lakers fan now because their struggles have burned off a lot of the bandwagon fans.

I forgot who said it, but someone said that Kobe is the wrong superstar to have when he's near the end. That is ringing truer and truer by the game. Laker fans will actually be invested in this team once Kobe is gone so they actually care about the development of the young players. when lebron's athleticism completely fades, he'll simply operate out of the post and still have the ability to finish around the rim along with the sharp vision and passing ability to hit cutters and open men...he'll still be a threat out there. he won't be taking fadeaways over 3 defenders and bricking them and being a liability on defense like kobe.

Lebron won't be Magic...but his passing/vision will still allow him to pick defenses apart, and his size will allow him to be a good rebounder and decent defender. he's already an unselfish player, so he'll be able to have a positive impact on games without taking a lot of shots.

kobe never cared to learn the intricacies of playing team-oriented ball and it's killing him and his team now.
