why....... when you could have gotten wilson chandler... slide him into the SF position
he defends especially on the perimeter, he can score especially shoot 3's to space the floor

would've been a perfect fit for y'all needs :yeshrug:

:russ: at how you said it, :mjcry: at the reality of it.

Ilyasova, though.....that's a decent pickup.

Saw the Suns dealt PJ Tucker, would've loved us to go after him instead but this isn't a bad pickup at all. Kinda makes me question the lineup b/c now you got

PG: Schroeder/Delaney
SG: THJR/Brembry
SF: WOAT/Prince/Thabo/Dunleavy
PF: Sap/Moose/Ilyasova
C: Wop/Humphries

I feel like we're slightly better...we'd be much better if we could move WOAT to the bench

I feel like under any other situation, WOAT would be benched. But they gave him so much money that there's pressure to make him good. It's not a good look to have a guy making that much money coming off the bench. Seems to me that Bud's pride is leading him to make some questionable choices. Hard to deny that things worked best when Ferry was making the moves as GM and Bud focused mostly on the coaching.

Bud as a de facto GM & coach is a conflict of interest. He has said repeatedly that he's trying to balance he short term with the long term. Sometimes that's not always possible especially if it takes dramatic changes in the short term to accomplish the long term vision. And that's what concerns me the most...there's not a long term vision that exists for the Hawks and it rarely works where the coach/President is the same person.

And BTW, we still need another PG and a backup C with size. If Wop gets into foul trouble or hurt we have absolutely no depth there

I like brehs game. Problem is that the Hawks don't see SF as a "need" position and you have to keep in mind that the Hawks just signed WOATmore to a huge deal, spent a lotto pick on Taurean Prince, traded for Mike Dunleavy and have a solid vet with Thabo. The group is collectively unimpressive but that doesn't mean you add a 5th SF to a 14 man roster

I think the issue was also that he is a 26 game rental and they probably asked for our 1st round pick.

I'm curious to see how the spacing with illy at the 4 and dwight at the 5 can do for bazemore attacking the rim.

At this point I would love to get deron williams because to me the biggest weakness is delaney.

I'd be cool with D-Will too, but I'd be shocked if he came here as opposed to Cleveland.

Maybe they were targeting him maybe not but I think the hope for who we have now is that collectively they give you the production of a solid SF platoon of players. You need improved & consistent backup PG play like you said and IMO a backup C

A vet PG that gets bought out would be a great pickup here
