I fear I'll end up like the red Sox and Cubs fans that lived and died never seeing their team win a championship :mjcry:
Every off season when I get a baseball itch I go back and find playoff highlights to make myself feel better. This ain't it brehs, this ain't it

The Mets been doing this to me since I was a kid, this organization just doesn't learn from its history.

In the late 90's they signed Piazza, which lead to playoffs in 1999, WS in 2000.

They signed a bunch of players for the 2005/2006 season which lead to the NLCS, should've made the playoffs in 2007 and 2008 but that's another story.

Traded for Cespedes in 2015 and he took them all the way to the WS.

Does this organization not realize that when you sign big players it leads to results and playoffs?

Anywho, let me get back to these Bernard Gilkey highlights :bronwtf1:

The Fred Wilpon didn't want Piazza. If it weren't for Nelson Doubleday, the Mets wouldn't have been a suitor.

The Mets beat writers have been getting killed all day online and rightfully so. They're not asking the questions that need to be asked.

I don't know how Baseball America ranks prospects aka giving more credit to excelling at a higher minor league level at the moment over potential but here's where our guys were ranked.

#30 Gimenez. I'm kind of pleasantly surprised but it makes me more optimistic about his potential than I was before.
#48 Alonso.
#98 Mauricio
Kelenic (traded in Cano/Diaz deal) was ranked #68 and Dunn(traded in Cano/Diaz deal) wasnt listed.

In all fairness, in 02 we had Mo Vaughn, Jeromy Brunitz, Roberto Alamar and Mike Pizza and still had a losing season :mjlol:

One could argue they were all washed by 2002 lol

Just to torture myself I pulled up the roster from 02' , starting rotation was:

Leiter
Pedro Astacio
Traschel
The Immortal Jeff D'Amico
Shawn "I can't find Clemens at the plate" Estes

Approve of the Wilson signing. Still not satisfied with our ss situation if Rosario ever goes down, but just about ready to see how this roster works out. Spring training almost here.
